Android Data Recovery

Data Clinic’s Android Phone and Tablet Recovery

Supported Manufacturers: Samsung, Huawei, Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, OnePlus, Google (Pixel series), Motorola, Sony, LG, Asus, HTC, Nokia, Lenovo, Realme, TCL, ZTE, Meizu, Alcatel, Panasonic

Data Clinic use sophisticated techniques and knowledge acquired and learnt over 20 years of providing data recovery services to safely recover the data from your Android mobile phone or tablet. Where many providers of phone and tablet recovery services will only have a software solution available to retrieve your data, Data Clinic have extensive hardware knowledge of Android devices and are able to recover data using many additional techniques including JTAG and Chip-Off, both of which we use successfully on Samsung, Huawei, Google, HTC and LG mobile devices.

We recover data from Android devices that have physical damage: phones that have been dropped, smashed or crushed, phones that have been damaged by liquid, eg. salt water, fresh water, coffee, wine, beer etc, unresponsive phones, and phones that have been involved in fires.

We are also able to recover data from Android phones with software problems: phones that bootloop or get stuck at a certain point, and phones that do not restart properly after a software update or similar.

It’s important to know that Data Clinic are not a phone repair company. Our skills are far beyond what is available on the high street, so if a high street shop has told you your phone is unrecoverable and the data lost then please contact us, we may well be able to rescue your data.

Finally, if you’ve factory reset your phone or deleted data from it and then emptied it from the recycle bin there is nothing that us or anyone else can do to recover the data. This is because the data has been overwritten and no longer exists on your phone.

Android Phones – Level 1 Recovery

Level 1 recoveries work with the larger components of the phone such as the screen, battery, buttons and charging port. So if the problem with the phone is due to a fault with any of these components then the recovery will be completed at Level 1 and there will be no need to proceed to Level 2. 60% of all the phones that come to us for recovery are completed at Level 1.

Faulty phones with damaged screens, smashed cases or faulty charging ports are often classed as Level 1 recoveries.

Level 1 costs are payable regardless of outcome.

Android Phones – Level 2 Recovery

Level 2 recoveries are optional and are required only where Level 1 work has not been successful. Level 2 recoveries are far more complex and work with the smaller and more difficult parts of the phone eg. the individual components on the main board, the CPU, EEPROM, and memory chips.

Phones that have been bent, run over, fire or liquid damaged, suffered heavy impact will most often be Level 2 recoveries.

Without actually examining the phone we are unable to tell whether it’ll be a Level 1 or Level 2 recovery. For example a phone with a smashed screen may well have significant internal damage that will require a Level 2 recovery.

Level 2 costs are payable only on success.

Advanced Recoveries and Rebuilds

Sometimes if Level 2 hasn’t worked it may still be possible to retrieve the phone’s data by using our Advanced Phone Reconstruction and Rebuild service – see below. This is a tailored solution unique to the problems with the phone and can take several weeks to complete. We will quote you separate costs for this if you wish to proceed.

Points to Note about Level 1 and 2 Services

  • We will need to dismantle your phone
  • You will not be getting back a working phone
  • Your data will be recovered to a memory stick and returned with your dismantled phone

Further Information

The JTAG and Chip Off Advantage

JTAG phone recovery by Data Clinic LtdJTAG and Chip Off are both hardware based data recovery solutions that can be used to extract the data from a mobile phone or tablet if software recovery fails. JTAG is a technique that allows us to bypass the Android operating system and read the data by using access ports on the phone’s motherboard to retrieve the data. Chip-Off involves us removing the memory chips on the phone or tablet and reading the data directly from them. Both JTAG and Chip Off are far more advanced and get better results than using simple software recovery applications.

In many instances, software applications are NOT able to recover lost data from Android phones and tablets, therefore using either JTAG or Chip Off techniques are the only options that will get the data back.
