Seagate Data Recovery
Data Retrieval and Recovery from Seagate Hard Disk Drives
Seagate currently have a rather impressive variety of hard drives in their product range. These include the standard HDD type, hybrid drives and solid state (SSD) hard drives. Rather than manufacture a ‘one size fits all’ hard drive, they now make hard drives tailored for specific uses such as low power consumption, high performance, CCTV and surveillance, server and NAS, laptop and mobile specific, external and backup hard drives.
Current Models include:
>Laptop: Momentus, Ultra Thin, Ultra Mobile, Laptop, Laptop Thin
>External: Backup Plus, Personal Cloud Home Media
>Desktop: SSHD, HDD, NAS HDD, Desktop HDD.15, Barracuda 7200.14
>NAS: Enterprise NAS
Older (Legacy) Models include:
Seagate U Series, Barracuda 7200.7, 7200.8, 7200.9, 7200.10, 7200.11, 7200.12, 7200.13, FreeAgent, Expansion, GoFlex, Momentus
Need To Recover The Data From A Faulty Seagate Hard Disk ?
Data Clinic are Seagate’s only data recovery partner in the UK and are experts in the recovery of computer data from all types of Seagate hard drive. Whether the drive is from a Server, NAS, PC, Mac or an external hard disk drive such as a Seagate FreeAgent or Expansion, we are usually able to access the drive and fully recover the all data.
Common Failures On Seagate Hard Disk Drives
1. Accessing the data on the drive is very slow and sometimes not possible
A common problem on all hard disks – not just Seagate ones, this fault is caused by the data on the disk becoming unreadable. This can be due to wear and tear, the age of the drive or poor manufacture. It’s a problem that spreads quite quickly so we always recommend that the drive is switched off in order to preserve the data it contains. We also recommend that disk checking programs like Chkdsk and Scandisk are not run as they will cause more damage and reduce the chances of successfully recovering the data.
2. The computer no longer recognises the hard disk drive
The disk will no longer be visible to the computer and sometimes (particularly on external hard drives) there with be an noticeable ticking noise. Alternatively, the disk may appear completely dead and not even spin. Failure symptoms like these strongly suggest that the hard drive has an electro-mechanical problem. Often the recovery will involve the drive being worked on in our cleanroom.
3. Some files and folders have been deleted and you need them back
Sometimes there’s nothing wrong with the Seagate hard disk – rather it’s human error, a software bug or virus that has caused the problem. Successfully recovering the data often involves repair the data structures on the hard drive and then piecing together the files and folders.
Seagate Warranty Checker
Perhaps your faulty Seagate drive is still under warranty? As Seagate’s only recognised and approved data recovery partner here in the UK we are able to check your hard drive warranty information, or you can use this online form and check yourself.
Why Data Clinic ?
Data Clinic are data recovery professionals and have been Seagate data recovery experts since 2002. Recovering data is all we do, and with almost 15 years knowledge at retrieving data from Seagate hard disks we are good at what we do.
We are not an IT company or PC shop. Organisations like these deal with faulty hard drives rarely and have little if any data recovery experience, so if you’ve been told by one of these places that the data on your hard drive is not recoverable, this information could well be wrong. Contact us, we’ll ask you a few questions and be quickly able to identify if the data on your drive has a chance of recovery.
