Developments involving Europe are, in these days of Euro crises, understandly treated with suspicion. However, there are occasional instances of innovations or collaborations which deliver genuine benefits, and Dataclinic has been an enthusiastic partner in one such Pan-European initiative since 2004. During those exciting eight years we have worked with Dataclinic Italy and the University of Manchester Institute of Science and Technology (now part of the University of Manchester) in an effort to produce an innovative approach to Advanced Data Recovery. The results have been both pleasing and impressive.
Although we have long demonstrated a tried and trusted expertise in data recovery the extension into Advanced Data Recovery was a natural and exciting development. Many data recovery practioners had wanted to establish a foothold in this area but, perhaps fortunately, we have been one of the very few companies able to show and prove a reputation for expertise in this area. As technology advances – both hardware and software – it is inevitable that problems develop in complexity and hence, in the area of data recovery, there has been the need to extend the range of general data recovery services.
Because of Dataclinic’s continued investment in advanced facilities, and thanks also to our long-term involvement in projects like the Pan-European initiative mentioned earlier, we have led the way in the creation and development of Advanced Data Recovery as a technique capable of dealing with the new problems presented almost daily by rapidly-improving technologies.
Some highly advanced developments have included the creation of a tool to recover data from drives with seized spindle or motor bearings, and also the development of a specialised tool to reconstruct data from damaged RAID arrays. Such innovations have put us at the forefront of this exciting new area and we are intent on extending this expertise for the benefit of our large number of customers, both in the UK and further afield, and such work will allow us to maintain our position at the forefront of Advanced Data recovery.
