Metamask – Forgotten Password and Lost Seed Words

Data Clinic can recover Metamask wallets when passwords have been forgotten, seed phrases lost and the wallet re-installed.

We were contacted by a customer in California who had lost access to his NFT collection on his Metamask wallet. He’d forgotten his password, and re-installed his wallet several times in an attempt to regain access, but because he’d also forgotten his 12 word seed he was just creating new wallets rather than regaining access to his old one.

After setting up a non disclosure agreement, we were able to remote access his machine in America and download some data files from his Chrome browser. We were then able to decrypt this files and work with them to discover the original Metamask password to his NFT wallet. Once we’d done this it was also possible to recover his private key and decrypt the 12 word seed phrase to his NFT wallet.

We use this method to recover both the original password (even if you can no remember it) and the original seed words (even when they’ve been lost). As long as you have an idea of what the original wallet password is we can do the rest. This method works on any computer browser, not just Chrome.
