Data Recovery on Microsoft Exchange Server

Microsoft Exchange Server - logo

Microsoft Exchange Server is an application often used by companies to centrally handle their email, contact and calendar data. The Exchange application writes all it’s data to a container file, often a .EDB (Exchange DataBase file) that can be many GB’s in size. The main type of failure is a deletion / corruption to the EDB file. Recovery of the data from the damaged EDB file quite often involves repairing the damage to the EDB file and then extracting the PST mailboxes, contacts and calendars. Sometimes there may be secondary damage to the PST mailboxes caused by the initial problem.

Exchange Server EDB files are usually found on servers and higher end RAID systems. If there is a RAID or server failure this can often cause damage to the EDB file.

Data Clinic’s Exchange Server Data Recovery Service

With many years experience in recovering the data from damaged EDB and PST files, Data Clinic are able to reconstruct EDB and PST data significantly more completely than any automated software solution. Software can also further damage the EDB repair and reconstruction process and recover very little, whereas we are usually able to repair and reconstruct EDB files completely, enabling us to recover practically everything for individual PST files, using our in house skills and experience. We’ve been recovering Exchange data since 2002.
