SSDs (Solid State Drives) are different from conventional hard disk drives (HDD’s) in many ways – the biggest of which is that they don’t contain any mechanical moving parts. Now, when you drop an HDD it more often that not causes a mechanical fault on the hard drive and you’ll need the likes of us to sort the problem our and recover your data for you. If you drop an SSD the chances are it’ll still be OK. However these drives are not immune from data loss.
I’ve just added a page to the web site about them. Enjoy!
