removal & replacement of faulty disks from the array. Once
the server had crashed, some drives were shown as IMPACTED and

Notes: Diagnosis revealed some corruption to
the data. Analysis showed that it was possible to reconstruct
& recover the data correctly. The data was returned to the
customer on the original RAID.

RAID Type: 2 x 6 disk NAS RAID 5 servers
Volume of data: > 1.2 Terrabytes
Disk type: 12 x SCSI
Operating System: 2003 Server

Overview: This company sends out bulk mailshots

societies and insurance companies. During a system upgrade, access
to both servers was lost and the RAID reported both volumes as
DEAD.
Notes: Despite being told by Dell technical
support that the data was lost, we were able to provide a full
recovery of the data from both RAID arrays. The data
was returned to the customer on a custom built RAID 5, due to
the large volume of data.
