Hard drive photos - impact damage

Impact damage on Samsung hard disk drive

The following set of pictures are from a Samsung SP0411N hard disk drive. They show damage to both the read / write head assembly (bent) and impact damage to the platter surface (dented). Damage to both components would have been caused at the same time - probably by the hard disk receiving a severe jolt of some kind - eg. the computer it was housed in falling off a table etc.
