Swapping controller boards on Hitachi DK23 hard disk drives for data recovery purposes

For earlier generations of these drives (DK23AA, DK23BA, DK23CA & DK23DA) it is a fairly straightforward process to establish PCB interchangeability by matching generations and firmware type on the PCB label.

However later generations of these drives (DK23EA & DK23FB) contain unique adaptive data & you should contact Data Clinic to perform the data recovery.
