Recovering data from older / obsolete Quantum hard
disk drives models
eg. Bigfoot & Prodrive
Mostly manufactured in the mid to late 90s, it's quite
rare to find one of these drives requiring data recovery as the systems
they were once running in have often been upgraded to a more modern
specification. However, sometimes these drives will still be found
in all sorts of wierd and wonderful legacy systems and devices - including
Apple System 6 devices.
Typical failure symptoms:
1. Drive loudly ticking and not recognised at startup
2. Drive quietly ticking and recognised correctly at startup
3. Drive appears to be totally dead
Recovery Information: Fortunately,
we see very few Quantum legacy drives that fail with serious mechanical
failure. Drives failures are frequently electronic or electro mechanical
in nature, and therefore it's often possible for us to recover the
data from them if the correct procedures are followed.
