Recovery possibilities: Data Clinic are often
able to perform a full data recovery on Maxtor DiamondMax Plus 9 hard
disk with firmware zone corruption
Cause: DiamondMax Plus 9 drives that
are recognised as "MAXTOR CALYPSO III" in the BIOS have
often sustained damage to their firmware zone.
What if I have one of these drives but the symptoms
are different?: This is quite possible, Maxtor Diamondmax Plus
9 hard drives are still prone to all the other problems hard disks
suffer from ie. mechanical failure, logical failure, bad sectors etc.
Electronic Failure: We have noticed
some DiamondMax
Plus 9 drives with blown components on their controller boards
